Dr. Williamson received his doctorate (Ph.D.) from UCLA in 1996. Previously, he acquired two Bachelor of Arts degrees (B.A.s) from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, in Philosophy and Spanish, respectively.  He also studied Spanish literature and philosophy at the Ortega y Gasset Foundation in Toledo, Spain.

Dr. Williamson has pre- and post-doctoral specialized training and experience with adults and children in many areas including trauma, anxiety, grief, addiction, depression, relationship problems, psychological testing and neuropsychology.  He worked as a research assistant at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute.  Dr. Williamson has been an affiliate staff member at nine different medical facilities in the greater Los Angeles area.  He served as the Director of Clinical Supervision at Allcare Mission Health Center in Hollywood, a non-profit facility serving lower income clients, from 2001 to 2004. 


Dr. Williamson has been a psychotherapist since 1993 and practiced as an independently licensed clinical psychologist in California since March 1999.  He provides individual, group, and couples therapy, as well as conducting forensic evaluations in English and Spanish, and offering expert testimony.
